Boardman Whale Oil Lamp, ca. 1820-1845
An excellent 8" tall (not including the burners) whale oil lamp with barrel font and baluster stem, unmarked but
firmly attributed to the Boardman group of Hartford Connecticut. A whale oil lamp, with matching font, shortened
stem and with a dish base, is pictured in JCT Connecticut Pewter and Pewterers, page132, fig. 137. On the same
page, fig. 136 shows a candlestick with matching stem and base.
