Thomas Danforth II 9-1/2" Flat Rim Pewter Plate, c. 1755-1782

A scarce example of an eighteenth century Connecticut hammered booge flat rim plate by Thomas Danforth II of
Middletown Connecticut.  Long considered an important figure in American pewter history, Thomas II was most
certainly the dean of Connecticut pewtering. The plate marks (J-113 and the crowned X mark) are very good.  The
plate is in excellent overall condition, with a few minor dings and signs of normal use.
