ASHBIL GRISWOLD 11-1/4" AMERICAN PEWTER DEEP DISH
An excellent marked 11-1/4" deep dish by Ashbil Griswold of Meriden Connecticut, c. 1807-1830.
The dish is nicely double-struck with the large eagle touch (J-152). The large eagle touch was difficult to strike
and clear impressions are very rare. On this dish's touches, note the stars above the eagle's head that are
usually not seen.
In excellent overall condition, the plate has some wear and scratches and a few minor dings.
