New England IC Crown Handle Pewter Porringer, c. 1800

A fine example of a crown handle porringer with the initial IC mark cast on the handle reverse.  Of New England
manufacture, this 4-5/8" diameter bowl porringer is one of a group of cast initial porringers that were made from
the eighteenth century into the early 19th century.  Many in this group are believed to have originated in the
Boston area.
